FFG continues to release old favorites and enhance them with modern app support. This automation of game mechanics allows a truly cooperative play experience that really shines with episodic adventure games such as Mansions of Madness. Best of all, the re-release has allowed us to revisit this classic and produce a storage solution for the 2nd edition of this FFG classic.
Our storage solution for Mansions of Madness includes ten (10) removable trays, including three (3) convenient railed monster storage trays, and is intended to be placed inside the publisher game box (FFG). The railed monster trays allow for the safe and protected storage of painted/unpainted minis. Everything else also has its place in our storage solution for Mansions of Madness.
This storage solution includes etched token names in the trays to indicate the location for each component so you will never wonder where something should be stored.
This storage solution provides:
- one (1) removable large railed monster mini storage tray with space for two (2) large monster minis with attached bases
- one (1) removable medium railed monster mini storage tray with space for six (6) medium monster minis with attached bases
- one (1) removable small railed monster mini storage tray with space for twenty (20) small monster minis with attached bases
- one (1) railed investigator mini storage tray with space for twelve (12) investigators
- one (1) removable top tray that provides storage for rulebooks
- one (1) removable tile tray for map tile storage
- one (1) removable shallow token storage tray
- one (1) removable deep token storage tray
- one (1) removable tray with storage for investigator cards/ID tokens
- one (1) removable small card storage tray for sleeved/unsleeved cards
Our railed mini storage trays allow you to mount and store your monster minis safely, but do require unadorned/unpainted bases. Also, the medium and small minis storage trays have room for two (2) additional minis each and the investigator tray has room for four (4) additional investigators. Note that you can forego the use of the rails and just build the minis bins and drop your minis in the bins. Your choice!
What Do You Need?
- If you own the 2ed base game and all seven expansions (Recurring Nightmares, Suppressed Memories, Beyond the Threshold, Streets of Arkham, Sanctum of Twilight, Horrific Journeys, Path of the Serpent), you will need our MOM-001, MOM-002, MOM-003, MOM-004, and MOM-005 storage solutions to store everything. With these five inserts + core + seven (7) expansions, you will have room to store everything. In addition, you will have room to store additional small cards, investigator cards, dice, future tokens, many more map tiles, and fourteen (14) additional investigators (the MOM-001 top tray is used to store the jumbo map tiles).
- If you only own the base game (2ed), then you only need the MOM-001.
- If you own the base game and one expansion, you will need the MOM-001, MOM-002, and MOM-003 storage solutions, since the MOM-002 stores tiles and the MOM-003 stores investigators. If the one expansion that you own is Beyond the Threshold, you can get by with just a MOM-001 and MOM-002, but the two investigators from BtT will need to be stored in the MOM-001 top tray or elsewhere. If you do go ahead and get a MOM-003 as well, it would be empty except for the two investigators. Finally, if the one expansion you own is Streets of Arkham, Sanctum of Twilight, Horrific Journeys, or Path of the Serpent, you need the MOM-001 + MOM-004.
Product Notes
- This solution provides ten (10) removable trays.
- This insert can store sleeved / unsleeved small cards and sleeved / unsleeved investigator cards (FFG Tarot sleeves).
- This insert is constructed of HDF (wood product) and is natural colored. HDF does not contain a wood grain as it is a constructed wood product.
- Insert assembly requires some wood glue and about 120 minutes of assembly time. I recommend Sobo Craft glue or another comparable quick setting, tacky glue.
- This insert kit weighs > 5 pounds, so it must be shipped USPS Priority Mail outside of Canada and the United States.
- This product is not officially licensed. All marks are the property of their respective owners.

This was my first go7gaming insert. I was able to construct 2-3 boxes an evening. The organizer is high quality and makes accessing all the game components easy. I will definitely buy more go7gaming products.

This was my first Go 7 Gaming insert and I love it. Up to this point I have been buying broken token inserts for my games. Broken Token makes good stuff but I like the Go 7 inserts even better. They feel more solid and better quality. It took awhile to put together and I had to use glue but well worth it in the end. I love the rails that you slide the figures into. I thought that was a nice touch. Well done, I highly recommend this insert.

I had seen this suggested by others who were saying that inserts of other brands for Mansions of Madness were lacking and decided to give this one a go. It turned out amazing!! It took a couple hours to superglue everything together but it fits BEAUTIFULLY in the box, is sturdy, and looks stylish as hell. The rails for the miniatures and their bases works beautifully and I never have to worry about them getting compressed or warped. I plan to use go7gaming in the future if I need a similar product. 5 stars from me!

It fits, it works. There are a few “be careful you don’t glue it together wrong” spots to watch out.
But what I’m writing about as well, is that a 2nd insert kit can be had, to store the 1st edition figures and room tiles and investigators in the 1st edition box, by only having to saw down (shorten ) a few bits. Safe woodworking with power saws is a must though, as trimming very small pieces requires special assistance – do NOT put your fingers within inches of a blade. Ever.

I got this as a birthday gift for one of my friends and he loved it. Putting it together was a blast and everything fit perfectly. This was my first order from Go7 Gaming and I will defiantly order again for my other games and recommend to my other friends for their games.

I can’t say enough positive things about the rails in this insert. They’re an incredibly clever way to maximize the space available in the box. After assembling the insert with wood glue, everything came together very well.

This is simply the best board game insert I’ve bought. I was a bit skeptical of a product using MDF instead of traditional wood for an insert (I have assembled wood inserts from both Meeple Realty and Broken Token). However after making this I’m convinced MDF is vastly superior to traditional wood. There was absolutely no splintering or tight fitting joints anywhere in the insert. All the insert pieces easily came out of the sheets with zero breakage. The only downside compared to regular wood IMO is that all of the joints definitely require glue. Everything fits snugly but not tight enough that parts will stay together without glue.
As far as this insert in particular. Its incredibly well done with plenty of extra space for cards. All my cards in MOM are also sleeved with FFG sleeves as well and they fit without any issues. I also plan on adding the Beyond the Threshold expansion: it appears there is actually enough room to fit all the parts in here as well (only 4 more minis, 8 tiles and more cards) with modification.
Overall, if you are serious about storage of MOM I can’t recommend this enough. I will be buying any future inserts I can from this company as I feel their product is superior to all other wood inserts I’ve used thus far.

Pure excellence of craftsmanship. Received my package quickly and bought the crafting glue that day. I just finished putting it together and now I can’t imagine not having it. Everything fit perfectly like a glove with room to spare for some figures and also some cards. I had no issues putting it together and I have only played a few games with my friends but this is going to make setup and break down so much easier for an already fantastic game. Thanks for making game night easier!

I purchased the entire 3-kit set for Mansions of Madness, and this was probably the easiest and highest-quality set I’ve ever put together for a board game. A fun little project that can be finished in a few hours, and the final quality is really nice. I’ll definitely be coming back for any of my future storage solutions.

Wow. Very impressed. After the plywood solutions from the other vendors, the MDF is very impressive – no splintering and everything fits together VERY well.
I changed a bit from the original design – I didn’t use the rails to hold things as all of my monsters have been rebased – I just toss them in one of the containers (Yes, they’re painted). So far, I have the core set, Recurring Nightmares, and Beyond the Threshold in the original box. Some of the containers have been re-purposed, but I really enjoy the entire setup. Very well designed!

I did the same and built the insert without the rails as I too have rebased the monsters on smaller circular bases. I also do not use sleeves so am able to get the base game, Beyond the Threshold, Sanctum of Twilight and Streets of Arkham all in the MOM-001 insert. A few counters are in baggies as there aren’t enough tray spaces but it all fits. I also just put the painted miniatures on top of each other in the rail-less boxes. A great insert.

Fantastic wood quality and everything mostly fits. The rails are genius. Only issues: 1) the wooden pieces with labeling on it should have shown that it had writing on it in the assembly instructions (I glued a piece upside down because in the instructions it looked blank). 2) The wooden pieces for the area to store heroes should be labeled because it’s easy to mix it up (the expansion boxes fixes this by labeling the pieces of wood as “N” and “O”, less confusion). 3) I’m not sure the area to store hero tableaus will fit it all if sleeved. 4) For the expansions, make sure the wooden lid can close, if a single railing is glued upside down (the wrong way) it can prevent the lid from closing..

My review is for all 3 inserts for the base game and both extra tile collections.
This is probably the best insert you will find for this game and it is pretty nice overall. I rated it 4 stars however, because there are a couple frustrating design decisions and the high price for all 3 inserts makes them a little harder to forgive.
I really do not like that there is not room for all the investigator cards if they are sleeved. Presumably if you are going to spend money for storage inserts, you will probably spend $3 for sleeves. About 8 of the sleeved investigator cards must be moved to the top tray. Extra room is given to things that don’t need it like dice and ID tokens, which leaves things like person tokens crammed into a space that is difficult to sort through while playing. You could move them, but the bays are labeled which makes it kind of annoying.
Extra room is given for additional monster figures, but there is no extra room for investigators. This means with Beyond the Threshold you already need to look for additional storage, which makes the extra monster bays far less useful. That space could instead have been used for better storing the cthonians as another reviewer points out. It is actually possible to store the cthonians across from the hunting horror by placing them into the insert simultaneously with the horror wing tucked under the cthonian tentacle, but it’s very tight, and it’s not even obvious that this is possible. The pictures conveniently do not display the cthonians for this reason, which I find shady.
These might seem like minors concerns, but again, these 3 inserts cost about the same as the base game and that makes them worth considering imo. That said, I am happy and would buy again.

Sumanye, thanks for the review.
“It is actually possible to store the cthonians across from the hunting horror by placing them into the insert simultaneously with the horror wing tucked under the cthonian tentacle, but it’s very tight, and it’s not even obvious that this is possible. ” This is correct and is how you must store them. Note that these were released after the base game. It’s a little hard to account for future releases, but we do the best we can.
“The pictures conveniently do not display the cthonians for this reason, which I find shady.” Again, MOM-001 was released prior to the other inserts, therefore the images pre-date the expansions. The bottom line here is they do fit and they should not touch.
“I really do not like that there is not room for all the investigator cards if they are sleeved.” At release there was plenty of room for investigator cards sleeved when the MOM-001 was designed. The expansions have used that space and more (if you sleeve investigator cards). With games such as this there will be periods during the release cycle when things like this occur. It’s unfortunate, but FFG uses the smallest possible size box they can. Eventually, as more expansions are released, we work to incorporate more storage for items like this.

Really easy to put together, instructions are clear and its a lot of fun!
Everything is really well made and packaged, made it all the way to the UK with no problems. A must-have improvement over the stock solution (which is no solution at all).

This is a great design. It wasn’t hard to put together and the miniatures storage solution is so clever. Excellent!
The only change I would make is to swap the storage bins for Dice and Person Tokens. They simply fit better in each other’s bins.

Perfectly fitted components, sensible layout, easy to follow construction! Seems like the set of containers across the three inserts will have ample space for the upcoming expansion as well (other than two new investigators, but should be workable). You guys really outdid yourselves with this one.

This really helped make sense of the Madness. I would highly recommend using glue as it creates a really solid insert when done. I do really love how the miniatures just slide in via the rails with room for more. You can easily fit four more investigators and a few more monsters.
Now I just need an insert for the old Mansions box that’ll fit all the 1st ed figures and tiles only since we’re using all the bits for our games.

Will the storage solution for the expansions fit in the 1st ed box?

Not likely. It’s two chests sized to fit inside the expansion boxes or used externally. However, I don’t have the 1ed box.

Admin Bobby G. –
Working on the second part of the solution for the expansion now. Soon… I have designed solutions to slide into the expansion boxes. You can also use the solutions without the expansion boxes (I call them slipcases since they hardly qualify as hobby game boxes), since they have a lid.

I just got done putting together and re-boxing MoM with this insert. I had fun putting it together, which I didn’t expect. I though tit might get tedious, but it was rather enjoyable. Everything fits well and looks good when the job is done.
If I had to make one complaint, is the picture that shows the card holder and cards makes you think there is a ton of room for the cards. In actuality, once you put all the cards in, there is not a lot of wiggle room/
I will get other inserts in the future for games like this. I would love to see a little more flair put into the pieces, like die cut designs that use the theme of the game.

With this insert can the box be stored on it’s side without the bits inside scattering out of place?

If placed on a shelf and supported like a book, yes. If you just stand the box on the side, you will likely have some component/tray movement.

MoM comes with many parts from the miniatures, tiles, cards, and tokens. This provides a solution that cuts down on the setup and packing up of the game with space to spare*. I can’t imagine not ever using a proper insert such as this for one of my games and highly recommend it provided it fits into your budget.

I was a bit apprehensive when I initially saw that I’d have to glue all the parts together. My previous experience with inserts like this comes from a competing company, but I wanted to give G7G a try, since I liked their artist case insert quite a bit.
All I can say is, damn, I’m happy I have to glue it all together! It gives everything a nice fit and finish, and I don’t have to worry about things falling apart. It holds all the cards, tokens, and monsters just fine, with a bit of room to grow (though I concede I bought the bundle, since I have multiple expansions, so I don’t have to worry as much about space).
My only quibble is that it’s not immediately clear how to actually put the boxes into the main game box. I had to study the photos on the product page to see how everything fits together.
Overall, I’m really pleased — and I think G7G has a customer for life in me.

This is an amazingly designed box organizer for the core box (no expansions) of Mansions of Madness second edition. It has ample room for all the materials, dedicated space for each miniature and even room to spare for a few more investigators and cards that you might get in expansions. The tile box is designed just for the tiles from the core set so if you have any expansions the tile will likely need to go in the top tray, which is kind of a bummer. But besides that the design is flawless. If fits perfectly in the original box. It’s a bit finicky to glue together but not terrible. And the design leads to efficient storage and decent accessibility for tokens pieces and monsters. You should either be prepared to glue (or use poster tack) the monster minis to the bases because they hang sideways and will fall off otherwise. This is more a problem with the minis than the organizer and really you should glue them unless you are (like me) waiting to paint them.
We liked this so much we ordered one for my sisters family to use with their copy of the game.

This was my first purchase from Go7 (and really, first insert), and I have to say, it was money well spent. After first cracking open Mansions of Madness, I knew I was going to be in trouble if I didn’t have a good way to store everything. After debating between Go7 and one of their competitors, I decided that I’d trust the reviews that others have submitted. A good choice. Although the build time took significantly longer than what was estimated (I think I spent upwards of eight hours getting everything just right), all of the pieces are now secure and well organized. Thanks Go7!

As described, this storage solution will fit everything needed for the game and a bit more in a very clever and innovative way. Glue is needed but to me this makes if more sturdy and less likely to fail after several uses.
If I were to complain about anything is that the instructions are not idiot proof (idiot here) so I glued the investigator holder incorrectly, and that there is no showing how the final solution all fits in the box.

This storage insert was exactly what I was looking for. It’s very well designed and ensures every component stays safely in place (even when the box is stored vertically on a shelf). I used all the storage rails for the minis and am so glad I did, it’s very easy to find the correct mini in seconds instead of digging through a bin. (Note, using the rails adds to the build time, but in my opinion is well worth it!). The token trays are fantastic, they have the names of each token piece engraved on the bottom and speeds up the setup since you can just place the token trays on the table. No need for separate token cups! The directions are well written and extremely easy to follow (be sure to dry fit as stated before beginning final assembly, this extra step ensures proper fit and allows you to see the best contact points for glue). This was my first Go7gaming insert and I look forward to utilizing their storage solutions for my other games! I hope to see a solution for Arkham Horror 3rd edition soon!!

Great quality sturdy insert. It does what its supposed to do. The only drawbacks were build time (it took me 3-5 hours a day for 3 days to get it done. I must suck at this lol) and the instruction dont exactly tell how each individual part is meant to be placed in the box once assembled.
On to MOM001 and MOM002 next!!!

This product has set the bar fairly high for me. At an affordable price, and range of support for many different popular games, this is a no brainer, especially with the price for some of those very games.
The overall assembly was fairly easy, even if the instructions were a bit hard to read. Simply by looking at the pics and finding the right pieces, everything fit together nicely. Other than requiring glue (which turned out the be absolutely necessary), everything went sooth.

When searching for inserts I wanted something more substantial than foam and these are just the ticket. I’d previously used a tacklebox and baggies in an attempt to organize everything, which didn’t work very well.
Pros:
– Clean and well thought-out layout.
– All token slots are labeled for ease of use.
– Has a dedicated box for board tiles.
– The top piece has enough room for at least one set of expansion tiles in addition to the manuals.
– It fits in the original Mansions box with minimal lid lift.
– Having everything well organized makes me want to play the game more often.
Cons:
– A few of the rail inserts were tight, so it took a while to insert the rails. I actually ended up breaking one.
Extra thoughts:
– I used a combination of the included glue sticks and cotton swabs to ensure all excess glue was removed.

High quality material and perfect inserction of ALL insert make the building very easy with the detailed instruction.

The title basically says it all. I was expecting thinner wood or slightly misaligned construction but everything was simple to punch out, easy to assemble, and feels super sturdy.
It’s very clear a lot of time goes into the creation of these kits as pieces fit perfectly together and hold all the pieces without too much space and without jamming things into their designated slots.

I had been looking for a well thought out, simple, and effective storage solution for my favorite game for a long time now. Actually, ever since first edition. So when I stumbled upon this gem, I had to take a closer look. Everything has been taken into consideration with this storage solution. It even makes the game easier to setup, which is crazy since 2e made the game even easier to get it all rolling. Setup and packup is even easier with this fantastic solution. It was so easy to construct, though the challenge for me was figuring out how it all goes together in the box. I love this solution. I only wish they had this for first edition. I’d buy it in a heartbeat. Looking forward to what Go7 comes up with next. I’ll for sure be buying the storage solutions for the other expansions as well. I am always impressed with the quality of the Go 7 inserts and this is no exception! The pieces all fit together really well and it was easy to assemble. It should be noted that the pieces fit so well together that almost every piece needs to be glued but that beats having to struggle to get it assembled. I did have a little trouble with the Investigator Tray, you need to pay particular attention to where the rails get installed or they won’t hold the minis but that was my fault.
