NOTE: The LGC-001 fits the “old” FFG LCG core box. New boxes started entering distribution channels in 2013 and you should refer to the compatibility page for information on how to determine if you can use the LGC-001. If in doubt, buy the LGC-002. It fits both the “old” and “new” core boxes for the LCGs from FFG, but not the new core small boxes.
This insert is designed to fit inside the following game boxes:
- Warhammer Invasion: The Card Game
- Lord of the Rings: The Card Game (only older editions, not the new small core box edition, see LGC-003 for small box core solution)
- Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game
- Star Wars: The Card Game
- A Game of Thrones: The Card Game v1
- Android Netrunner: The Card Game (only older editions, not the new small core box edition, see LGC-003 for small box core solution)
- High Command, Hordes/Warmachine (core box)
Product Notes
- This v20 release supports 3mm acrylic dividers. Orders placed before March 2020 used 2.286mm dividers.
- This insert measures 288.5mm x 288.5mm x 67mm high (11.34″ x 11.34″ x 2.63″) and provides three (3) organizational lanes for horizontal card storage. There is ~1.5mm clearance at the top in standard LCG game boxes for rulebooks, etc. It has ~16.5mm clearance at the top of Thunderstone boxes for the game board, rulebooks, etc. Finally, this insert has ~7.12mm clearance when placed in a big High Command box.
- This insert has narrow lanes due to the small size of the box. Recommended sleeves include Ultra Pro Deck Protector and Mayday Premium.
- This insert has 847.5mm of card lane storage. It can store ~2825 unsleeved cards or ~1695 Mayday Premium sleeved cards (.50mm per card) or ~1569 Ultra Pro Deck Protector (66mm x 91mm) sleeved cards (.54mm per card). Keep in mind each acrylic divider will also use 3mm of card lane space. The values used for the card thickness estimate = .3mm.
- This insert is constructed of HDF (wood product) and is natural colored. HDF does not contain a wood grain as it is a constructed wood product.
- Includes fifteen (15) clear acrylic dividers (model LGC-DIV-002). Additional divider packs of type LGC-DIV-002 should be used. The DIV-002 design allows for the attachment of Post-it Durable Hanging File Folder Tabs (adhesive) for divider notes.
- Insert assembly requires some wood glue and about 15 minutes of assembly time. I recommend Sobo Craft glue or another comparable quick setting, tacky glue.
- This is a third-party, non-licensed product.

Great tray. Solid construction. Better than the equivalent Broken Token tray for reasons listed in other reviews. However, you need to get the recommended sleeves. I ended up going with Ultra Pro Deck Protectors. A lots of sleeves will be too tall to fit right. I can say Fantasy Flight and Mayday non-Premium didn’t fit. (Mayday Premiums are recommended and should be okay, but I didn’t have any to check with) So basically, save yourself the hassle. When you order this tray, just go ahead and order or go buy recommended sleeves.

Using as a box-insert organizer for Netrunner, and overall it’s glorious. Definitely worth the time to do a careful glue-up, I was a little sloppy with mine and it ended up just slightly too snug for the box to fit around it comfortably, but definitely still workable. For Netrunner, I’m guessing it would fit around two thirds of the currently available cards. It’s pretty perfectly sized with cards fitting fairly snug if you’re into that sort of thing. Fits cards sleeved with KMC perfectly, but Dragon Shields are a no-go. It’s awesome that if you do glue it up, it’s a great organizer just by itself. For something like Netrunner, I think it’s the best thing currently available.

I was excited to get this insert for my LoTR LCG game (original box). After putting it together ans sorting my cards I tried to put the cards in only to realize they won’t fit. I am using Fantasy Flight sleeves. While the Description says there are recommended sleeves, it would be great if it just said “Will not fit…”. I exclusively use FFG sleeves. Please update the description to say “ONLY FITS…” or “WIll NOT FIT…”. Saying “Recommended” makes it seem like maybe those fit a bit better.

I have two of these and they worked perfectly! Any card heavy game benefits from this and allows you to keep your game (and expansions!) organized in a single box!

This insert is of excellent quality and utility, and is ideal to consolidate card-heavy games with multiple expansions into one or two boxes. So far I have used them on Lord of the Rings Card Game, A Touch of Evil, Battlestar Galactica and Ticket to Ride; I have used the LGC-002 insert on Eldrich Horror (which has the newer, slightly smaller box). What’s nice about this insert is the lanes are exactly the right width to hold full-size unsleeved cards without any wasted space. The LGC-002 insert has wider lanes and isn’t as efficient (although probably a good choice for sleeved cards).
I have tried a few of the similarly generic Broken Token inserts and to my mind this one is clearly superior for four reasons:
1) The HDF material used here is more substantial and much less prone to warping than the wood used by Broken Token (BT).
2) The addition of a bottom piece makes this insert extremely solid and holds the lane dividers securely in place (BT does not use a bottom piece).
3) The acrylic dividers are much nicer than the wood dividers used by BT and stay securely in place whereas the BT dividers are prone to slipping out of place, this is compounded by their lane dividers warping.
4) There are twice as many divider slots in these lanes than BT, making the dividers more adjustable.
I would also mention that although this insert requires glue to assemble, it goes together much easier than a BT insert, which often requires pieces to be hammered together since they rely on friction to hold it together.
The one drawback to using an insert is it does fill the entire box leaving no room at the top for a game board, rules etc unless you’re willing to have the box top extend up a bit and not fully seat onto the box bottom. For games with multiple expansions I find I can’t fit it all in one box anyways so I typically use two boxes, one for the cards/tokens and one for the game boards, rules, player aids, etc. This still saves shelf space over the original stack of boxes and makes the game easier to transport to game night, and now all the cards are in one place and neatly organized. Highly recommend!

I have 4 of these and have used them for everything from sorting to storage. The quality is bar-none, and there is something extremely satisfying about opening a box of Star Wars, Cthulhu, Lord of the Rings, or Netrunner, and having the wooden interior and the customized dividers reveal the glory of a deck collection. I recommend this to everyone who plays LCGs.
