What Do You Need?
Rum & Bones: Second Tide™ is a big game and it has tons of content. We have provided the guidelines below to help you decide which storage solutions will best serve your needs:- If you own just the base game (Kickstarter or retail) and the sea monster and expansion hero minis for the base game factions, you should purchase 1x RB-001.
- If you own the base game (Kickstarter or retail) and all expansions and Kickstarter content, you should purchase 1x RB-001, 1x RB-002, 1x RB-003, and 1x RB-004. These four storage solutions will store all Rum & Bones: Second Tide™ content including all add-on heroes.
- Beyond the two choices above, consider that the RB-001 solution handles the base game. The RB-002 solution handles storage for the Blutrausch Legion and many expansion add-on minis. The RB-003 handles storage for the Iron Inquisition expansion and many expansion add-on minis. The RB-004 handles the storage for Hammers of Ragnarok and many add-on expansions.
Product Notes
- This insert can store sleeved / unsleeved small and large cards.
- Our token trays in this solution will accommodate either the cardboard tokens, add-on premium plastic tokens, or metal coins, but not all. The RB-002 provides additional token storage for additional coin tokens, if needed.
- This insert is constructed of HDF (wood product) and is natural colored. HDF does not contain a wood grain as it is a constructed wood product.
- Insert assembly requires some wood glue and about 60 minutes of assembly time. I recommend Sobo Craft glue or another comparable quick setting, tacky glue.
- This product is not officially licensed. All marks are the property of their respective owners.

I love Go7Gaming inserts and have completely switched from using Broken Token for multiple games now. This organizer works perfectly for the core set, my expansions, and kickstarter exclusives.
The only reason this is 4 stars is for a pet peeve I have with all their organizers. The assembly instructions are heavily text based, semi-labeled graphics of the punch out boards, and in this case specifically – there is a lot to be desired. (Some other organizers I have by them have better instructions and graphics, but not as good as it could be). When I had this one built, there was no articulated graphic on how they fit together in the box. The text was semi helpful, but I had to go back to the website to see how the pieces fit together as a whole with product pictures. With competitors products I will take the articulated graphic on how to put things back in the box and tape it on the inside top cover. In this case I will have to make my own graphic with pictures of my own.
However, don’t get put off by the pet peeve – the instructions are clear enough to not cause confusion on assembly, the product is higher quality than its competitors, and I highly recommend these. Matter of fact I have 3 more to assemble for the expansions.

I was able to fit all my expansions in 1 box! And it helps make setup a breeze.

I reviewed this on my YouTube channel, and gave it my highest recommendation. The quality is top notch AND has zero dust or sticking parts (they almost fall out of the templates). Rum & Bones never had it so good! 😄

I’m a backer of the second tide Kickstarter for Rum & Bones and have everything. My enjoyment of the game was becoming hindered by the hassle of having to perfectly pack everything up, remembering which box had what, and fitting the boxes back into my board game closet without letting the game take over a whole shelf.
Given the amount I play the game I was looking for a solution that made storing, set up, and transport manageable. I had some reservations about the design of this Go7Gaming solution, but after clearing some personal mental hurdles I decided to test the waters with this insert. I’m glad I did as it meets my core requirements with acceptable concessions.
Pros:
1. Fits everything out of the retail box without issue.
2. Fits the entire line of add-ons for two factions.
3. Speeds up set up and breakdown while giving tokens a place on the table while in use.
3. Provides stability to the box, which is relevant if you wanted to stack other board games (like more Rum & Bones) on top of each other. I did this to save space in my game closet with no worries given the support the insert provides.
4. An absolute delight how all the boxes fit in the box after construction with just enough space. The product you are buying is packaging and Go7Gaming delivers that with style and flair.
5. Great how-to reference included in the package to reference while building.
Cons:
1. You are gonna have to chunk out some time to put this together. I think the estimates are optimistic and I always spend more time putting these together. Take breaks and turn on your favorite podcast. Enjoy the satisfaction you get out of creating.
2. Cost. If you play the game enough you can justify the cost. Otherwise, it is a tough proposition to spend 1/3 the msrp on an insert imo.
3. The crew is all in the same container! This was my biggest hangup with the storage. I have a lot of the heroes painted so how will the crew do when I get around to them…right. I had to come to grips with the fact I just don’t have time to paint the crew for R&B. Furthermore, if I wanted to protect the crew I had to treat R&B like a full blown minis game, storage and all, which I don’t want to do. I wanted the game to be in the boxes and limited on my shelf. Given the room available in the box, and the amount of minis I don’t see a better way. You either have to accept that some of the minis are literally the bucket army men of R&B or move on to miniature storage solutions. My crew have fared fine so far, and I am coming to grips that one or two may get bent out of shape in the life of my game. As long as the heroes are intact nobody will notice the chaff imo. If I painted the crew using this insert would definitely consider the dip method to help prevent the paint from chipping.
4. The two Kickstarter exclusive captains don’t have a spot. A minor gripe but worth noting. I’m guessing Go7Gaming didn’t get these so they weren’t considered. Ultimately, I moved the sea monsters and game tokens to a small box since every expansion needs those items too. I then used that space to put the bosuns for the crew, hoping to better protect them, and used the dividers to give the two captains there own space. All in all the storage solution is flexible and RB3 appears to have extra spaces if that concerned.
The challenge was difficult and Go7Gaming pulled it off. They continue to make storage marvels, at a good clip to boot! While concessions had to be made I’ll definitely be buying the rest of the storage for the second tide expansions and the first wave as money frees up. It’s the best option by a mile.

If we have the original material from Rum & Bones, how many inserts would we need?
