LGC-005 Insert for Older LCG Core Boxes

This organizer is designed to fit into the pre-2013 FFG large core LCG boxes. It provides three lanes of card storage. It can accept sleeved cards, but only if the sleeves precisely fit the cards (Ultrapro generally works). It includes nine (9) dividers.

NOTE: The LGC-005 fits the “old” FFG LCG core box. New boxes started entering distribution channels in 2013 and you should refer to the compatibility page for information on how to determine if you should use the LGC-006. If in doubt, buy the LGC-006. It fits both the “old” and “new” core boxes for the LCGs from FFG, but not the small core box in the new LCGs.
This insert is designed to fit inside the following game boxes:

Product Notes
- This insert measures 288.5mm x 288.5mm x 67mm high (11.34″ x 11.34″ x 2.63″) and provides three (3) organizational lanes for horizontal card storage. There is ~1.5mm clearance at the top in standard LCG game boxes for rulebooks, etc. It has ~7.12mm clearance when placed in a big High Command box.
- This insert has narrow lanes due to the small size of the box. Recommended sleeves include Ultra Pro Deck Protector and Mayday Premium or any sleeve that is precisely fitted (no overhang).
- This insert has 835.5mm of card lane storage. It can store ~2785 unsleeved cards or ~1671 Mayday Premium sleeved cards (.50mm per card) or ~1547 Ultra Pro Deck Protector (66mm x 91mm) sleeved cards (.54mm per card). Keep in mind each wood divider will also use 3mm of card lane space. The values used for the card thickness estimate = .3mm.
- This insert is constructed of HDF (wood product) and is natural colored. HDF does not contain a wood grain as it is a constructed wood product.
- Includes nine (9) wood dividers. Additional divider packs of type DIVA-005 should be used.
- Insert assembly requires some wood glue and about 20 minutes of assembly time. I recommend Sobo Craft glue or another comparable quick setting, tacky glue.

I was at first mildly disappointed when assembling it, as there are 4 additional half-sized “dividers” to increase the structural integrity of this insert (as compared to LGC-001 which has a base for that). BUT. After putting it in my box and filling it with over 2000 cards, i felt it was an good trade-off in the end: my cardboard box now feels much more solid despite the weight increase. Previously, my box felt very fragile with my homemade rubbish cardboard insert — it was bending this way and that because of the weight of the cards. I would very much love to buy another one to put in my second core box, but i might hold off a bit in case there are other inserts i want to buy (international shipping is a pain).

If you own the Lord of the Rings LCG and have the original box and more than a few sets, this is a must buy. Great quality. Easy to set up. And surprisingly light. I do wish it came with more dividers because I’ll need to be ordering some extra. But for $14, it’s an amazing value.
They recommend you glue it, but I only glued at the corners. It seems sturdy enough with just that.
So glad I decided to invest in this storage solution. I’ll definitely be buying more form this company.
