Argent: The Consortium (1ed or 2ed) is packed full of tokens, bits, and miniatures. Oh yeah, and cards, fistfuls of cards. I don’t know about you, but I can’t name a Level 99 Games release that I don’t like. In fact, I love them all. There is a great starter insert in the box, but I figured we could probably add a little utility with removable trays and organized card storage. This insert will definitely help you get your game underway quickly and breakdown is a breeze too.
Product Notes
- This insert provides storage for all core and expansion components (Mancers of the University, Festival). The insert was designed to store the board, rulebook, and candidate sheets on top.
- This insert provides two removable tokens trays for quick setup and use during play.
- This insert is lovingly crafted with laser power using a 3mm HDF wood product and is natural colored. HDF does not contain a wood grain as it is a constructed wood product.
- This insert can accommodate sleeved or unsleeved cards. If you sleeve your cards and you have the expansion, you will need to store some of your Standard-sized cards in the larger card slot. Even then, thicker sleeves may present a storage challenge.
- Insert assembly requires some wood glue and about 30 minutes of assembly time. I recommend Sobo Craft glue or another comparable quick setting, tacky glue.
- This is a licensed product offered by Go7 Gaming under license with Level 99 Games.

I have been supporting Go7Gaming since the original Kickstarter, and have loved all of their products. This one I was a bit iffy on, because the notes explicitly called out that if you sleeve your cards with the expansion, they won’t fit in the designated wells and will need overflow. This.. is a bit of an understatement. 🙂
I own Argent 2nd edition, Mancers 2nd edition, the Summer Break mini-expansion, the Festival of Masks, and the Empyreal bonus cards. I sleeved the standard cards in Gamegenic matte clear sleeves. I have not yet sleeved the spell cards (and I might hold off on that due to space constraints).
Unfortunately, there just isn’t enough room for everything + the wood if you lay the cards down flat. Even the spell card slot doesn’t hold all the overflow. So for now, I’ve stood the cards on their ends and gotten as much as I could in there. I’ll need to figure out a spacer or something to keep the rest of the components flush with the raised cards, because they add a few mm of height to the box and it’s lopsided right now.
That said, there is plenty of room for everything else. I decided to throw the unique and neutral minis into the last oversized well on the side. All the pictures of this set are from 1st edition, but 2nd fits just fine. Interestingly, the instructions flip the orientation of the main tray versus the original pictures.
I will say that I had to use a mallet to assemble the kit, which is something I rarely have had to do with go7gaming lately. Inspection showed that the laser cuts were just slightly angled, indicating there may have been an issue with the placement of the board on the cutting surface. I’m pretty confident it is a minor manufacturing defect and will not affect others. I’ve also let Go7Gaming’s support know about the issue.
All in all, very functional! Only improvement I could see making would be to have each color’s pieces be in their own tray so you can just pull them out and hand them around the table, but I know that would add a TON of wasted space to the organizer for not much gain.

Easy build and great storage solution. There was even an extra piece in the solution (two F plates when there should have only been one). The build time was a bit long for m however (the instructions say 30 mins but it literally took me 3 hours and that was just for the two removable trays lol. I did the main part of the insert the day before)
The only “downside” which isnt really a downside hence the star rating is that the instructions pictures build it up in a way that it wont match the full color complete and used insert pic on the first page of the instructions as well as the product buying page of this site. Instead yours will look like an upside down mirror image of the pictures. The only way to have rectified that would have been to go against whoa the instruction picture show and flip the bottom base/floor boar over and glued everything on THAT side instead. However everything still fits and functions the way it should.

It seems the slots for standard cards accomodate sleeves. Does the insert accommodate sleeved spell cards? I use Swan Pan Asia Dixit size.

The space for spell cards measures 130x86x52.6mm high. If sleeves are small enough, yes.

It was easy to put together, a bit of glue was all that was needed. I had modified my set so things are a little tight but everything fit. Great job!

I love this game, but it takes a while to setup and put away. with this insert we get it out on the table a lot more. setup time is cut to 25% and put away time is almost none existent with everyone helping.

Was really easy to put together, and wooden pieces were good quality and didn’t have rough edges (I got a Five Tribes insert from another manufacturer and the quality and edges weren’t as good). It is very satisfying putting it together and having no issues or hold ups what so ever.
I love Argent, and anyone that has it knows that there is just a lot of different parts of setup to deal with, and this insert handles it all beautifully.

Will the insert work in the new edition of the game? Can it accommodate the new expansion?

I’m curious about this too.

Per Brad, the 2ed game is the same (except for mini bases), so fits fine. The Festival cards will fit also.

Very easy to build. Great insert. I would definitely buy more from this company.

This insert is very well designed, and will hold everything if you do not sleeve. It might hold everything if you use penny sleeves as well. Arcane Tinmen sleeves for the spell cards fit fine.
I use Ultra-Pro pro-matte premium sleeves for the regular sized cards. So I was not able to store all the cards in the insert. I had to put the various scenarios and the festival of masks in a separate deck box. Not a huge issue for me, as I can pick and choose what scenarios to use, and will not be bringing them all the time anyway.
I do not think an insert is able to hold everything in premium sleeves without a redesign and likely box lift. However for me I am happy to use an additional deck-box, as the insert will still help bring the game to the table more often.

I got this for Christmas, and I found it to be pretty good. It fits everything and is nice and organized.
However, it could really stand to be improved by making a channel for the board to sit in. As it stands, it add a little bit of lid lift, but if the center walls of the divider were a little shorter, it would have been better.

Very good quality and ease of assembly for an insert. I don’t have any expansions, but it looks like there is plenty of spare room for such if I end up going that route. I think this will help in setup and teardown immensely. I’m very pleased with the finished product here.

I think that the smaller 2 trays should have been a little thinner from maybe a 1/2 centimeter to full centimeter. This would have allowed the bigger tray to be little wider. This would have made more room in the area that the minis are stored and would have allowed for more storage for cards under the minis with a small tray on top of them to hold the minis. I have worked around the storage a little to get everything in the box with premium sleeved cards and it is tight. I moved the crystals over with the minis and used the crystal area in the small tray for some of the cards. Was able to put summer break cards in with the school tiles and the rest of the cards above the large section. So yeah you can get it all in one box but not using as designed.

Easy to assemble, fits snugly in the box, all components are stored well with space left over for the expansion.
