This organizer is designed to fit inside the versatile Artist Sketch Case available from Hobby Lobby in the United States. Our ASB-001 organizer provides storage for cards in a horizontal configuration and includes 15 acrylic dividers. This case differs from other ASB organizers in that it requires the flip-out storage shelf to be kept in the case due to the low-profile nature of the design. This shelf is often used to store game manuals, books, and boards.
This organizer is great for inexpensively storing large volumes of standard-sized cards from games such as:
- Dominion
- Thunderstone
- Magic
- Pokemon
- and the list goes on…
You will want to measure your cards or cards+sleeves. As noted below, the card lanes are 94.5mm wide. Your cards should be a maximum of 94mm tall (sleeved).
The Artist Sketch Case is famous for being inexpensive. It is also famous for having wildly different interior sizes. This organizer has been designed to support the smallest size case interiors that we have found or been informed of by customers. In some cases this means that the organizer will be smaller than the interior offered by your case and may slide around a bit when handled. A small amount of movement in the case should be fine, but you can always optionally drop some glue on the bottom of the case and glue the organizer into the case to eliminate any movement.
Product Notes
- This v20 design supports 3mm acrylic dividers. Units shipped prior to March 24, 2020 support 2.286mm dividers.
- This insert measures 70mm high and provides four (4) organizational lanes for horizontal card storage. This insert is meant to be used with the swing-out compartment still inside the case. The compartment provides extra storage for rules and boards, and stabilizes the cards and dividers no matter how crazily you swing the case around. Just don’t let go…
- External dimensions: 394mm x 300mm x 70mm high
- Lane width: 94.5mm
- This insert has ~1176mm of card lane storage. It can store ~3920 unsleeved cards or ~2352 sleeved cards (.50mm per card). Keep in mind each acrylic divider will also use 3mm of card lane space. The values used for the card thickness estimate = .3mm.
- This insert is constructed of HDF (wood product) and is natural colored. HDF does not contain a wood grain as it is a constructed wood product.
- Includes fifteen (15) clear acrylic dividers (model ASB-DIV-003). Additional divider packs of type ASB-DIV-003 should be used.
- Insert assembly requires some wood glue and about 15 minutes of assembly time. I recommend Sobo Craft glue or another comparable quick setting, tacky glue.
- Artist Sketch Case not included.

I’m so glad you sell to Canadian retailers. We don’t have Hobby Lobby here so I had to get the case from an artist supply store in Quebec. The whole thing (case plus insert) cost $108 CDN, but seeing how much I’ve spent on Legendary it’s well worth it. In addition, since broken token doesn’t sell to Canadian retailers, it would have cost about $180 CDN to buy the broken token version. Very excited to receive everything and finally put all my Legendary in one box!
I just received an ASB for my Marvel Legendary game. Regretfully, I purchased an insert for it from The Broken Token, and put it together a few days ago. For how expensive it is, it is very very flimsy (and it doesn’t even have a bottom to it). The insert here looks SO MUCH BETTER. Today, I just found out about Go7Gaming, and now I regret about not knowing about you guys sooner! For all of my next inserts, I’ll be coming here, rather than The Broken Token.

I’ve used box inserts from the “other” company and the quality was questionable. Go7 has the best and hardiest quality I’ve used. It went together solidly with some wood glue and clamping and it doesn’t feel flimsy like the “other” brand inserts.

Good divider, went right together. My only issue is I bought it for Thunderstone, one of the suggested games for it. It fits, but the legs of the internal compartment bent the outer corners of the dividers on the left and right rows. Something to keep in mind if you’re buying it for a game with dividers.

This is a very good ASB insert. My only wish is that there was a taller one where I could stack two bit boxes on top of one another in one lane. Otherwise it is perfect.

From reading other reviews i knew what i was getting. All the pieces fit together and while there were some minor imperfections (a little space between a couple of joints, and talking minor minor space) the prduct works perfectly as described. Box is $25 at Hobby Lobby and the 40% coupon on their app all the time brings it down to $15 and change. Second time buying this insert and would glady buy again when needed.

Just a quick question on this insert.
The case from Hobby Lobby comes with a rather nice tray. It looks like it might be able to sit on top of the insert if you remove the compartment from the lid of the box. Has anyone tried this, and if so, does it work?

I bought this to use as a standalone card storage solution on my husband’s desk (i.e. not inside a case). He has lots of prototypes of various card games that have been scattered in piles over his desk for years. This box works perfectly to hold everything neatly and easily visible. I wasn’t expecting the little extra box that came with it, but that works great for all the dice and other tiny pieces. Very pleased with it.

Solid insert. The base panel helps keep the whole thing rigid so there are no worries about the middle pieces moving around and dividers falling out of place.

This basic design works, and is easy to assemble. The thick material is sturdy, but wastes some space due to its thickness, plus there is extra room in the Hobby Lobby case. both wasting more space and leaving the Organizer free to move around unless glued. I am happy with the product, but not extactic. If the fit in the case were improved, it would probably allow more varieties of card sleeves to fit better.

Insightful review! Thanks. Do consider that the reason the insert is loose in many cases is due to wide variance in case quality. What is loose in your case just fits into many cases. These Hobby Lobby cases are not the highest quality cases and inner dimensions vary.

Great insert!!! Very sturdy and fits the cards great. Only nit pick is that there is a little space between the insert and the box so it does not fit snug. But otherwise it’s great!
