Our Gloomhaven top tray provides an optional top tray to partner with our GH-001 storage solution. This top tray offers storage for the player counters, map tiles, board, sticker sheets, and game manuals. This solution will cause ~20mm of lid lift.
The primary benefit of this top tray is that it provides a quick and easy way to remove the stored components (map tiles, manuals, sticker sheets, etc.) from the top of the box so that you can quickly gain access to the storage trays below (provided in our GH-001 kit).
Product Notes
- This insert is constructed of HDF (wood product) and is natural colored. HDF does not contain a wood grain as it is a constructed wood product.
- Top tray assembly requires some wood glue and about 15 minutes of assembly time. I recommend Sobo Craft glue or another comparable quick setting, tacky glue.
- This product is not officially licensed. All marks are the property of their respective owners.

The thing that impressed me the most was that fact that Go 7 Gaming shipped the package the day after I ordered it. I was expecting to wait one to two weeks before getting the shipping notice, like with so many of the other insert makers. I’ giving a high rating for the quick turn around.
Keep up the good work.

This is a well built product that was easy to assemble. Also like the product details say it does cause the lid to stick up about 3/4 of an inch

I feel this tray should have storage instructions for optimal placement of tiles at the very least since it is being sold separately, at a premium, compared to the Broken Token insert that includes a top tray. The BT tray etched the instructions on the tray inself…

Construction of this monster is no fun at all since the design has absolutely no inherent stability. If this thing will hold the weight of the tiles and the scenario books solely depends on the quality of your glue and your glueing skill. The material is thick and robust but compared to the rest of the Gloomhaven insert the design of this product is quite mediocre.

I feel this tray is very necessary and really should simply be a part of the Gloomhaven-001 package. Seeing other reviews, I don’t have a problem with stacking the tiles in alphabetical order. I put the A and B tiles in a different stack, and I still have room four all extra. Causes lid lift, but completely worth it.

Go7’s organizers are very high quality and easy to build. Ships fast, packaging is superlative, and instructions are aodel of clarity.

It shows that there are 6 reviews for this product, but they can not be accessed. Why is the Review link broken now?

As stated in my GH-001 review: “This storage solution has been great for my wife and I. The build was long, but not overly difficult. The “tile keys” are a good solution to a easily missed problem. The final product has a great packing feel, holds everything well. GH-002 is the pièce de résistance. The way that it holds the map tiles and everything extra makes it easy to recommend. 100% satisfied with the product.”

Works well, and happy to have something to be able to quickly pull all the other bits out to get at the game. As others have stated, I wish the base was a single piece (I understand their reason for splitting it for shipping and standardization, but still…), and would really like a sheet or video to show a recommended method of storing everything in the tray. Lid lift is less than an inch, and the lid still lays flat, unlike what would happen with a file folder.

This was a great add-on to go with the main organizer. It keeps everything together and is easy to take out of the box and keeps everything at hand. This is definitely a need to go with the game.

First, the build was obnoxious – mating long pieces together on a single edge is just a nightmare glue-up. I had to pull out my clamping rig to do it right.
Second, it doesn’t really add to the organization. It’d be interesting to see if there is a recommendation for laying all of the extra parts – map boards, booklets, etc – into this tray. As it stands it’s very difficult to get things consistent from go to go. At the end of the day, next time, I may just buy an external flip folder to hold all of the extra large flat bits. It would be far more organized and easier to find things in than this stack of random bits.

This piece really helps finish the box out for the game. you do have to put the pieces in fairly organized to make it all fit. The way it is built you do have to glue the pieces a bit, but once that is done and it is dry the hold together very well and the tray is very sturdy and doesn’t have any issues with the weight being held. As to the lift I have yet to see a good storage solution for this game that doesn’t cause some lid lift, and with the vertical size of this box that really isn’t a problem.

Bought GH-001 and only afterwards realized I should have gotten this as well. Annoying to pay $10 shipping twice.
Go7, make the bundle the recommended default.
Buyer, buy them both.

Assembled the entire organizer and sorted all the pieces. This is a fantastic solution to keeping your game sorted and easily accessible. The only downside I’d have to say is that there is a bit of lid lift, but this was clearly advertised when I purchased the product.

It’s a fine tray at a reasonable price (though only if you don’t have to pay multiple times for shipping). I agree with other commenters that it would be good if they had a suggested stacking order, because I have yet to find one that works well.
This is exacerbated by the fact that in addition to the large map pieces and rulebooks/stickers, you also have to store the health and experience trackers and the character sheets here.
I did manage to glue the bottom tray together incorrectly–in my opinion it could be made more clear that the bottom pieces are not symmetrical and need to be glued together in a particular way. (The rest of the insert didn’t have this problem for me.)
All in all, though, it’s much better in my mind than just stacking everything willy-nilly in the box. Time will tell if I continue to keep my map pieces here, or if I use the accordion folder method I’ve seen described elsewhere.

So this does what it says it does, has the lid lift it says it has, and I like it for what it does; however, after playing a bit I’m not sure I’d buy it again. I ended up buying a legal size accordion folder to store the map tiles alphabetically (which is AMAZING) and so this sits about half-full causing a lid lift. I’m unsure if I want to remove it, though, because it does help hold everything down.

The tray is easy to assemble but since it is large, the bottom and two of the sides come in two pieces and have to be glued together first. I recommend using a little more glue than normal when gluing the large pieces together. After it dried, I added an extra layer of glue to make sure the bottom held up to the weight of all the manuals, vp trackers, etc. So far I have had no problems.

The top tray is just what it says it is. Its an easy space to store the tiles, manuals, stickers, etc. for Gloomhaven.
Pros:
– Allows for an easy lift-off tray to setup the great game even quicker and easier.
– Feels solid, and won’t easily break with all the stuff it holds.
Cons:
– Its a big tray, so it comes with a 2-part base and takes a little more time to assemble and glue. I would have preferred a single solid bottom base. Or even two, smaller trays to fit on top (but I don’t know if the tiles would fit with a 2 tray system)
– The size of tray forces some lid lift, less than an inch. But for the convenience of having a removable tray, its worth the extra space.
In the end, its just a tray. Nothing too special, and no specific storage spots to organize the tiles and books neatly. It just adds an easy way to get to everything else for setup.

I’m planning on another session this evening. Maybe I’ll play with it to see how to best fit the tiles. If so, I’ll post my suggestion here.
