This organizer is designed to fit inside the versatile Artist Sketch Case available from Hobby Lobby in the U.S. This wooden art case can be carried as a briefcase or satchel and includes an upper swing-out compartment for storage of boards and rulebooks.
The organizer fits into the empty case, but the upper storage compartment should be removed from the case since this organizer has such a high profile. You can store boards, small mats, rulebooks, and more right on top of the insert.
This organizer has two construction options for the bit lane side of the insert. You can use the full wall or the two short walls which allow for the storage of a BB-100 bit box in the bot lane.
This organizer and the case is great for inexpensively storing large volumes of standard sized cards from games such as:
- Dominion
- Thunderstone
- Magic
- Pokemon
- Star Wars
- Netrunner
- and the list goes on…
The Artist Sketch Case is famous for being inexpensive. It is also famous for having wildly different interior sizes. This organizer has been designed to support the smallest size case interiors that we have found or been informed of by customers. In some cases this means that the organizer will be smaller than the interior offered by your case and may slide around a bit when handled. A small amount of movement in the case should be fine, but you can always optionally drop some glue on the bottom of the case and glue the organizer into the case to eliminate any movement.
Product Notes
- This v20 design supports 3mm acrylic dividers. Units shipped prior to March 2020 used 2.286mm dividers.
- This insert measures 100mm high and provides five (5) organizational lanes for vertical card storage and one (1) smaller lane for bit storage (43mm wide). The BB-100 will fit in the bit lane of the latest revision of this storage solution. The BB-100 will not fit into the bit lane of this and older revisions of this insert. If you need one of our older bit boxes, send us feedback.
- This insert is meant to be used with the swing-out compartment removed from the case.
- External dimensions: 399mm x 303mm x 100mm high (15.7″ x 11.9 x 3.74″)
- Lane width: 67mm
- There is ~7mm of clearance on top of the insert to store boards, rulebooks, etc.
- This insert has 1485mm of card lane storage. It can store ~4950 unsleeved cards or ~2970 Mayday Premium sleeved cards (.50mm per card) or ~2750 Ultra Pro Deck Protector sleeved cards (.54mm per card). Keep in mind each acrylic divider will also use 3mm of card lane space. The values used for the card thickness estimate = .3mm.
- Recommended sleeves include Ultra Pro Deck Protector, Mayday Premium, Mayday Euro, Dragon Shield (snug, no spare room width-wise), FFG Standard, FFG Euro, etc.
- This insert is constructed of HDF (wood product) and is natural colored. HDF does not contain a wood grain as it is a constructed wood product.
- Includes fifteen (15) clear acrylic dividers (model MULT-DIV-001). Additional divider packs of type MULT-DIV-001 should be used.
- Insert assembly requires some wood glue and about 15 minutes of assembly time. We recommend Sobo Craft glue or another comparable quick setting, tacky glue.
- Artist Sketch Case not included!

The fit of the insert to the artist case is very tight but that is good. This will never come out and that is what I wanted. Perfect fit.
I use inexpensive sleeves for my cards and the cards are a tight fit to this insert. The sleeves are tight to the cards so there is no sleeve that would be tighter to the cards. The cards just fit, but hang up on the notches in the top of the dividers if the cards are not perfectly aligned. Not too big of a deal for me, but my kids might need to learn a little more patience to get the cards in just right. Unsleeved cards fit perfectly.
Would not hesitate to purchase this again.

This insert is better than the Broken Token insert in my opinion. If you sleeve your cards make sure to check the width because it is a very tight fit when using FFG sleeves.

I know this product states that Dragon Shield sleeves will be “snug”, but that is an understatement. If you are using dragon shield, this is not really something you should be trying to use. I give this 5 stars because of the material quality, production precision, and ease of assembly. Minus 1 star because I think DS sleeve users should be completely warned off rather than told they’ll be “snug”.
I will likely end up using this for a different game which is unsleeved, will decide after I’ve used it a bit more for its intended game.

Update! While I still consider DS sleeves to be more than “snug” in the card lanes, it’s perfectly usable. It’s a bit annoying trying to get a larger stack of cards into a lane without some of them getting hung up on the crenelations in the top of the dividers, it’s mostly avoidable if you’re careful.

Could you please clarify what are the differences between ASB-002 and ASB-003?

Admin Bobby G. –
The ASB-003 has doubled inner rails allowing dividers to be placed side-by-side in the lanes. This allows for the many, many groups of small cards to be stored (Dominion). It also has a bit lane that has less width than the ASB-002.

So I own the LCG v3 I think, that fits arkham horror card game, and I love it, but I’m very close to running out of room with it and have been thinking of upgrading. I was just wondering if you had bit boxes for sale that could slide sideways into that available space like the token box that came with my LCG box.

The available space being that bit slot on the right there

The ASB-002 can handle a single BB-100 bit box.

If you do more work with your hands besides typing and moving a mouse, this is not a hassle to put together and once placed inside the artist’s case from Hobby Lobby, it is a very sturdy insert for storing cards. As noted in the item description, the card lanes are narrower than the ASB-003 and do not allow you to put the acrylic dividers in side-by-side in adjacent lanes. This is a minor issue that is easy to work around, but if you are particular about symmetry or what-have-you, it might bother you a little. If you are going to be carrying this insert in the case, I highly recommend you divide the cards in each lane into smaller groupings (you’ll probably want to buy more dividers to manage this) to reduce the weight of cards pressing against any given divider. For a stay-at-home card organizer, this product is absolutely top-notch.

Straightforward assembly with a bit of wood glue. Only complaint is that the rows ended up tighter than expected–it takes inserting a bit box at an angle and then applying modest force to squeeze it down into the narrow lane and then coercion to get it back out. The lanes are ever so slightly bowed in places and some are tighter than others, which makes cards slide readily in some lanes but much more tightly in their neighbors.
Notches were also surprisingly tight–inserting a divider goes about halfway before it needs firm force to go the rest, and when removing dividers they require enough force and effort that there is a nominal worry of unseating the wood of the divider itself.
Despite these elements, the fit of the overall divider set into the case is good, assembly was relatively painless, the cost was agreeable and I’m ultimately satisfied with the results minus the above-mentioned annoyances.

Hi, we received an order of acrylic and a portion of it was out of tolerance. This issue was caused by the manufacturer halting production of our usual thickness of acrylic and selling thicker acrylic as the .090″ acrylic we usually buy. This has caused some issues as you can see.
Dividers should slide in and out with relative ease.
I have contacted you via email to arrange replacement. -B

This is easily the best insert for the art case. It’s pretty fricken perfect. I have no complaints. It takes some skill to put together, so ensure you practice first to make it perfect.

I got this for my ever growing Arkham Horror: LCG collection. It fits perfectly in the Hobby Lobby artist supply case, sleeved card slide right in and it’s very adaptable. I love it!

This kit is really awesome! It fits perfectly in the Artist box. The cuts are clean, and show almost no burning. It’s one of the nicest additions to my game I’ve ever gotten! Highly recommended!

Will this fit into the black Hobby Lobby artist case?
Thanks.

It should as long as it is the same case model. I have a couple of black cases here and they work fine.

I am using this organizer with the Hobby Lobby Artist Case to store a collection of Android Netrunner. The design is excellent! It is relatively easy to glue together and the finished product is pretty slick. I love the acrylic dividers!

Grabbed two of these for the Arkham Horror LCG and the Lord of the Rings LCG. Assembles easy, excellent quality, tight (but not too tight) fit. Now, to grab two more…

I was wondering what I would need to store my extra Pathfinder Cards, and the staff were super helpful in pointing me in the right direction. The only complaint I have is that case that was supposed to be designed for didn’t exactly fit snugly. Once built it moved around quite a bit. I managed to jury rig a piece of wood and slid it on the sides of the inside of the case to make it snug and it works well enough. I clicked the link they provided and bought it directly from the site but they may have changed their detentions of there art box.

Very pleased to have discovered and purchased this solution for Arkham Horror: The Card Game. Combined with the Hobby Lobby Artist Case ($14.00 shipped after online 40% off coupon), this insert provides ideal storage and organization of my Core Sets and expansions.
Well made, easy to assemble, and perfect fit. Worth every penny. And I’ll be exploring more options for my other games (hoping there’s an insert to fit the Artist’s Case for Elder Sign and its expansions.)

I replaced my BrokenToken insert for NetRunner with the hope of increasing storage capacity. While it did do that, here are the comparisons between the two and my thoughts on making Go7’s solution better.
The products:
BrokenToken Artist Case Insert
Go7 Artist Case Insert 002
Price (USD, not including shipping):
BT – $26.99
C7 – $33.00
Total card storage (length):
BT – 1400mm, 18 dividers
G7 – 1188mm, 15 dividers
Material:
BT – 1/8″ Baltic Birch plywood
G7 – 6mm High Density Fiberboard
Pros of each:
BT:
Lower cost.
Holds more cards.
Plywood feels sturdier than MDF (I have already broken a bit on the Go7 case while assembling).
Assembly was faster and easier to insert into the case.
Lighter weight.
More room in the lid for rulebook storage.
Able to place dividers in the same row (G7 you have to offset).
Easier to remove cards from rows due to overall height.
GO 7:
Narrower card rows allow for room on one side for a bits box and a few other items.
Single piece sides made assembling the main portion easier, though the bottom addition was a pain when inserting into the case.
Acrylic dividers and MDF are smoother than the plywood. Seems better on cards in the long term.
Divider slots are more frequent, allowing for better control over where you place the dividers. This is partially offset by the fact you cannot place two adjacent to each other horizontally.
Personal conclusion:
While the BrokenToken seems to come out ahead, it loses a lot because of the missed opportunity to have that narrow 6th row for bits storage. Overall BrokenToken stores more (considering cards only), is stronger, inserted into the case easier, was easier to get cards in/out of, and allowed more room in the lid for rulebook storage. Go7’s 6th row for bits helped balance out the loss of overall storage space due to thickness of the insert and single piece sides made some assembly easier, though adding that bottom piece made that all go out the window.
If I had to choose one, I’d go with a modified Go7, cutting down the overall height to match the BrokenToken and removing the bottom piece to allow more lid storage and ease of card access. I will probably do this, if I can figure out how to cut the acrylic dividers to match.

I can understand the need for the ASB-003+ line, but for me I wanted room for the bit box. This model specifically has enough to hold a complete set of Warhammer 40k Conquest.
3 Core Sets
3 Full Cycles
2 Expansions
The lanes easily fit the Ultra-Pro Pro-Fit sleeves, but they are to narrow for the Ultra Pro Card Sleeves standard sleeve, but those are a little oversized to begin with. I ended up buying a lgc-003-small-card-dividers for mine. Its not designed for it so I turned the divider dieways and placed a MULT-DIV-001 right at the base of it. I felt it was a pretty good solution for all the token cards and it fit snugly with two lanes of 4 slots.
Easy to assembly well worth the purchase. I would say with all the cards and the insert. I feel the case weights a little more then the handle was designed for so I tend to carry ten case out in front of me as much as possible.
Only thing is that the insert fits very snugly. So you either need to slightly sand it or the inside of the case. Nothing major and it could be my case was just not made to spec.

Picked this up after Hobby Lobby had a 50% off sale. Very happy with the build. One tip is you need to push the insert all the way to the back of the artist case when you first put it in or the lid wont close.
Having so much fun organizing my game.

Fits Dominion + 5 expansions with room for mats and extras.
Fits in the ASB neatly. Rulebooks fit on top of insert.
I was provided a recent revision that has a cutout in the wall for a BB-100 (see photo), which fits nicely in the small lane
Great product! Great price!

Bought this for my massive Arkham Horror LCG collection (required two ASB-002 organizers!) The cards fit perfectly in the organizer and I use the Harbor Freight aluminum cases to carry the cards. The cards stay in place without getting thrown around and there’s a ton of room to organize my AHLCG cards in the way I prefer. The acrylic dividers are the best that I’ve ever come across and I’m very impressed with how they fit in the ASB-002. My only regret is that I didn’t buy these earlier…I went through numerous failed (and expensive) storage solution attempts. These organizers are top notch!

I like that the wood has no grain at all to it so no damage to cards, and the tabs are well placed to hold it together a nice tight fit. Its a bit deeper than what I hoped my MTG cards are a bit smaller than the sides though the acrylic dividers do help with getting a hold of them when its full.
