This insert is designed to fit inside the core Legendary Marvel Deckbuilding box (not Villains or Encounters). Just one insert can easily store Legendary and two expansions. This insert is designed for use with larger standard sleeves such as FFG and Dragon Shields. If you don’t sleeve, you should have a look at the LEG-002 insert. It provides an additional row of storage.
Product Notes
- This insert provides three (3) organizational lanes for vertical card storage. There is enough clearance at the top for rulebooks. If you store your game board in the box, the top will not close fully, but it is well supported by the board.
- External dimensions: 280mm x 280mm x 95mm high (11.02″ x 11.02″ x 3.74″ high) and provides 1.3mm of clearance for rulebooks at the top. The game board is 12.7mm thick so you will have ~ 11.4mm of lift if you store the board in the box.
- This insert has 834mm of card lane storage. It can store ~2875 unsleeved cards or ~1668 FFG Standard sleeved cards (.50mm per card) or ~1573 Dragon Shield sleeved cards (.53mm per card). Keep in mind each acrylic divider will also use 2.286mm of card lane space. The values used for the card thickness estimate = .29mm.
- This insert has super wide lanes to allow for the use of larger sleeves such as FFG and Dragon Shields. Recommended sleeves for the cards include FFG Standard, and Dragon Shields. When using tall sleeves (FFG Standards), you should store cards between dividers with spare space allowing the cards to recline slightly so that the sleeves sit below the top of the insert. FFG sleeves are ~2.2mm taller than the insert, but store fine if allowed to recline at a very slight angle within the dividers. Dragon Shields are .1mm taller than the insert top. They store perfectly with minimal reclining.
- Image is of prototype using 3mm Baltic Birch. Production insert uses HDF wood product.
- This insert is constructed of HDF (wood product) and is natural colored. HDF does not contain a wood grain as it is a constructed wood product.
- Includes fifteen (15) clear acrylic dividers (model LEG-DIV-001). Additional divider packs of type LEG-DIV-001 should be used. The DIV-001 design is a t-shirt divider.
- Insert assembly requires some wood glue and about 15 minutes of assembly time. I recommend Sobo Craft glue or another comparable quick setting, tacky glue.
- This is a third-party, non-licensed product.

I am new to card games and card game storage so I did a lot of research before making a purchase. I needed an insert that would help me to sort all my sleeved cards and Go7Gaming was recommended to me over Broken Token.
The material for the insert is very nice. Everything is smooth and lightweight yet sturdy. I did decide to piece the insert together WITHOUT the bottom. Doing so freed up ~3mm which allowed me to have card dividers display above the cards without the box top crushing the dividers. With the insert bottom in place, the top of my sleeved cards were exactly touching the box top when the box closed… That mean 0 space for dividers to hang above my cards.
There is a lot of horizontal free space in each lane and I am worried over time this may bend my cards when I stagger them in the lanes… If I start to notice this I guess I will stop staggering them… but theres like a whole inch of space to the side of my cards in every lane.
This insert is not perfect but it is quality. I hope one day they will redesign it to have higher lanes, that way the box top can be raised without putting pressure onto my card dividers and crushing them. That would have allowed me to use the bottom of the insert as well.

I confess. I did not buy this for Legendary. I bought it for Direwild because the insert for that game does not accommodate the game cards if you sleeve them. This insert fits the Direwild box almost perfectly (only about 1/8 inch smaller on both sides than that box) and works extremely well for that application. The box (as with my other Go7Gaming inserts) are strong and beneficial for storage. Zero complaints.

Generally very happy with this product. Having three lanes to maximize storage creates a minor inconvenience in that the insert is nearly as tall as the box, and with the game board the box doesn’t close entirely though it feels well supported.
The included dividers are helpful, but they are somewhat thick and consume the same space the cards do. And if you plan to order additional dividers for better organization then the problem compounds. My solution is to use the included dividers, not order additional dividers, and to use the included poster board type dividers from the base game to further divide up cards within a category. For instance, I have a hero section that is divided from villains, wounds, etc., with the plastic dividers and further subdivided into the individual heroes with the base game poster board dividers.

This is exactly what the Marvel Legendary box needed. I set mine up earlier today in about 15-20 minutes, using their recommended Sobo glue, and it worked like a charm. I left it sitting for a couple of hours before placing into the box. It fits perfectly into the box; not too tight of a fit or too loose. I have the Dark City, Paint the Town Red, and Fantastic Four expansions and all the cards fit nicely with plenty of extra room for the more expansions. I’m using Dragon Shield card sleeves and the cards have enough room in the rows without any problem. As the description states, with the game board on top, the box doesn’t close flush, but still fits nice and snug around the box.
