Machi Koro is a fun, fast little card game that really shines with a divided storage solution. It hits the table often here at HQ and one of the first things we did was design a storage insert to speed setup and breakdown. Our time is valuable and so is yours! The base game box (U.S. published, check your measurements) is only large enough to handle two (2) card lanes, but that’s enough to handle everything currently released (as of Oct 3, 2015). Of course, the tokens needed a storage upgrade too, so we created a three (3) tier storage tray solution with an engraved top that stores in a dedicated position in one of the card lanes.
Note: this storage solution will work in the standard Macho Koro box or in the deluxe tin. Sliding into the tin will result in resistance, but it will slide slowly downward and seat into the tin just fine. The insert stands a few millimeters high in the tin, but the tin lid design provides the same resistance when closed with the insert in place. In other words, the lid closes, is stable, and stays closed with resistance. Also, the rulebook stores fine on top of the insert inside the tin.
We love our insert for Machi Koro and we know you will too!
The images on this page illustrate just the base game cards. If you have the Harbor & Millionaire’s Row expansions, you will probably want two (2) extra packages of MK-DIV-002 dividers to totally categorize cards. If you store your cards mixed, then you only need the dividers that ship with the insert.
Product Notes
- This insert provides two (2) organizational lanes for horizontal card storage. There is zero clearance at the top, but it can easily accommodate a couple of rulebooks.
- This insert includes an engraved, lidded, three (3) tier bit tray that stores in a dedicated section of the card lane. The trays provide six (6) compartments for storing your tokens and dice from the base game, as well as the Harbor and Millionaire’s Row expansions.
- This insert has wide lanes due to the arrangement of lanes. Recommended sleeves include Ultra Pro Deck Protector, Mayday Premium, Dragon Shields, and FFG sleeves.
- This insert has 361mm of card lane storage. It can store ~1203 unsleeved cards or ~601 Mayday Premium sleeved cards (.50mm per card) or ~649 Ultra Pro Deck Protector sleeved cards (.54mm per card). Keep in mind each acrylic divider will also use 2.286mm of card lane space. The values used for the card thickness estimate = .3mm.
- This insert is constructed of HDF (wood product) and is natural colored. HDF does not contain a wood grain as it is a constructed wood product.
- Includes fifteen (15) clear acrylic dividers (model MK-DIV-002). Additional divider packs of type MK-DIV-002 should be used.
- Insert assembly requires some wood glue and about 15 minutes of assembly time. I recommend Sobo Craft glue or another comparable quick setting, tacky glue.
- This product is not officially licensed. All marks are the property of their respective owners.

Excellent insert for the metal deluxe edition. Tons of room left over so I can consolidate 2 games into one.

After sleeving all my cards for the base game and the Harbor expansion I was having trouble fitting them neatly in the base box. To the internet I went in search of the answer. Thankfully I came across go7gaming and their inserts. All of my sleeved cards fit neatly in this insert with plenty of room for future expansions. The stacking boxes also keep the table neat and make set up a little bit quicker. Also, with these inserts the fit is so good that whether you stack your games or store them sideway, you have no worries about the cards and pieces staying put.
