All fourteen pounds of this kit will arrive on your doorstep, ready to be assembled filled in order to provide an amazing storage solution for your game!
Our design philosophy for this custom storage solution for Gloomhaven differs from the approach taken by others. While it did increase the cost of the solution over competing options, we engineered the storage solution that we felt the game deserved.
As you know, Gloomhaven includes many small, thin cardboard boxes. These are an amazing touch for an amazing game and are required given how the game exposes more options as you progress; however, if you are willing to spend additional money to buy a storage solution for what is arguably one of the most unique games of the decade, why settle for a wood tray that simply holds cardboard boxes that will wear out over time and through continued use?
This kit includes eighteen (18) character storage trays with lids that store each individual character’s cards, tokens, minis, and character boards. The lid has a small cutout to display the character class symbol. These trays are designed to allow you to store your active cards sleeved, but unused cards are intended to be stored unsleeved. With that said, some of the character classes will allow all cards to be sleeved and stored safely in the trays. There is also room to fold your character sheet and place it in the tray as well.
Note: The Gloomhaven second edition+ minis have wildly varying base sizes, unlike the first edition mini bases, which are all very uniform based on our copies and reports we have received. Some of the second edition mini bases match the sizes of the first edition and some don’t. There is no rhyme or reason. This anomaly appears to be a quality issue.
To account for this, each character tray has two mini cutouts to account for the uniform 25mm base size from first edition and a larger cutout to account for second edition variances. If you have the larger second edition minis, our tray bottoms are designed to allow the base to pass through up to 2mm so that your tray lid will close. The tray lids also have a small cutout to allow for this pass through from other trays. This allows the trays to stack together for storage and allow for the larger second edition bases.
This solution features extensive etching across the various trays to speed your setup and play of the game. This includes the monster trays, the terrain trays, the status tray, the token trays, etc. We have etched pretty much everything in this beauty. If you’ve had the chance to play Gloomhaven, you know how time consuming it can be to try and find that one monster or that specific terrain tile. Now you don’t need to struggle!
In addition to the large amount of etching included to simplify and speed game setup, we have provided lids with many of the trays in this solution. These lids have been designed with multiple contact points to ensure they are simple to operate and yet stay closed under normal handling. No need to worry if your tokens are staying put when transporting your game box.
Our large card tray includes etched dividers for each card type and supports sleeved cards.
Our small card tray includes etched dividers for the various card categories. Due to space constraints, we provide three alphabetically etched dividers for monsters (A-F, G-M, N-Z), so you will need to group your cards together, but it is still very fast to find the card set you need.
Note: this solution does require that you open each character box and character mini box to load the character boxes we provide. Therefore, you will obviously get a glimpse of each mini (and the weakest willed among us might even peek at the cards). If this is a problem, you should consider having a non-Gloomhaven player/spouse/friend fill the character trays for you.

This solution does not include our GH-002 top tray. The optional top tray creates ~20mm of lid lift.
This solution was designed to store your map tiles, manuals, map board, player counters, and stickers on top of the trays stored inside the box, which will fill your box to the top. If you feel like a top tray is something that your copy of Gloomhaven needs, have a look at our GH-002 top tray.
Rift tokens should be stored in the character box with the Aesther Diviner.
You will not be able to store ~4 standee bases in the standee tray. We suggest you store these in a baggie and use them during setup or just baggie them and keep them with your map tiles. You may not need them ever.

Product Notes
- This insert can store sleeved / unsleeved small and large cards (FFG sleeves, etc.). The oversized monster cards can’t be stored in this solution if sleeved.
- This insert is constructed of HDF (wood product) and is natural colored. HDF does not contain a wood grain as it is a constructed wood product.
- Insert assembly requires some wood glue and about 200 minutes of assembly time. I recommend Sobo Craft glue or another comparable quick setting, tacky glue.
- This product is not officially licensed. All marks are the property of their respective owners.

Wish I could find a UK retailer for this product. I’m not overly happy with the organiser I picked up initially (my own fault for not researching as much as I normally would) and this looks to be the best option around.
There are small rectangle punch outs that don’t seem to go anywhere. Am I missing something?
Where do the character pads go? There isn’t room in the character boxes without folding the entire pad.
I have the same question, my boards seem to have a number of very thin rectangles that I don’t see on the instructions anywhere. I assume they are nothing, but I haven’t finished building yet so until I do I’m keeping those boards.
Glue cleanup sticks!
I have a lid that is loose. Any suggestions on making it more secure ?

Will this be able to accommodate the new expansion Jaws of the Lion?
No. No room left. Jaws of the Lion will require a small insert. We will work to ensure the character trays are the same size.

in the card trays, yes. In the character trays, no. The character trays will fit cards in use sleeved and others unsleeved.
Don’t know if you guys are aware but that first video review contains spoilers :/ He basically opens a bunch of locked characters boxes. You should pull it off the site or at least warn of spoilers. I’m actually quite disappointed as I hadn’t seen any locked content yet and don’t look online for any either. A big part of the game is discovering the different hidden elements.
I agree, I was a little disappointed to see locked content, could have easily used 1 of the 6 starting characters.
Are you aware of anyone who is making stickers of the class symbols to put on the sides of the character boxes so that we can tell which is which while they are all still stored in the game box?
I printed my own stickers very cheaply using the following method:
1) Google around for Gloomhaven Class Icons, and you can find many pages with high resolution images (http://www.talviuni.net/gloomhaven.html)
2) Start a Microsoft Word template with the Avery 5160 mailing label template (30 labels per page)
3) Use copy/paste (snipping tool) to paste one or two icons in each mailing label slot.
4) Make sure everything is vertically and horizontally centered within each cell.
5) Print
6) Use a paper cutter to cut each label so they’ll fit on the box and look nice.
Forgot to mention- print them on the Avery 5160 label sheet, not just letter paper! That way it’s sticky and die cut.
Not aware of anyone offering the character stickers.
Working on putting mine together. No major issues yet. One complaint. a small one, is a wish all the pieces would stay in the board until they are punched out. Some tend to fall out when you pull out the sheets.
Also does the smell dissipate after a while ?
Same problem here, a lot of mine falling out on their own. Had to tape them back to keep things organized. My biggest complaint is that in the instructions most of the sheets (plates) arn’t labeled. Huge oversight and makes things a lot more confusing and difficult for the user.
In watching several videos about the insert I noticed that there was a tray that held the character sheets. It also looked like it went on top of the elemental tray to help keep the tokens from shifting. I do not see this tray in the post May 11, 2019 product. Was it removed simply due to space limitations with the redesign for the expansion?
Hey CausticSoda, those videos are for out V1. The V2 that support Forgotten Circles eliminated that tray to allow room for the expansion. You should place your character sheets with your tiles.
Now that Forgotten Circles is out, will there be a new kit for the expansion?

Just watched the video review, nice to see how the insert looks and how everything works! One side note though, showing the character boxes is a major spoiler. Especially because in the description we get warned about the spoiler when putting the characters in the boxes and letting a non-player put them in. Is there another video review or maybe a possibility to remake this one that only shows the six starter characters? Thnx 🙂
Hi Marion, no. Functionally all we are showing is the symbol, so it’s not really all that tough to avoid knowledge early in the game, especially if you have an unrelated party load the boxes.
I meant in the video review 🙂 he shows 2 complete characters to show how the wooden character-boxes of your insert look. It would have been nice if he would have used one of the 6 starting characters instead of characters you unlock later in the game 🙂

How much space is left on the top without the GH-002 Top Tray? I’m thinking I could maybe make a DIY custom vacuum form tray for the game board/books/etc. But, I need to know how much space I am working with before I pull the trigger on your system. Thanks!

Are there any plans to maybe etch the character symbols onto the sides piece for the character boxes, allowing users to see the class without pulling the character box out?

Yeah, this is the only thing i was disappointed about with the set. Would have been so much better to have the character symbols on the lids.
What is the width of the top of the character boxes? I am planning to get stickers of the symbols for them. Also if a piece is broken or missing how will this be handled?
Pieces broken in the act of kung fu practice are the users responsibility. 🙂 If you find you are missing a piece or a piece was broken during shipment (this is so exceedingly rare, that I can count on two hands the number of times it has happened in four years), we will get you squared away. 16 character boxes measure: 96 x 147mm and one character box measures: 112 x 147mm

The first expansion is coming out soon. Does this box have room to accommodate the expansion or would it fit in the tray GH-002 along with the other elements from the base game?

Almost complete. An upgrade kit will be released this weekend and all purchases past that point will include the updates.

Can’t imagine an insert being better. Took a long time to put together but was extremely easy to do so and it was quite enjoyable as well. The quality and sturdiness of the boxes are tremendous and surpassed my expectations.

The photo was my solution to avoiding spoilers. I laid everything out (with examples from the starting six character boxes) for my wife to unpack and box up for me. Maybe took her five minutes since it was laid out like an assembly line. Quick, painless and spoiler free! Now I can enjoy the insert and the game to its fullest potential with no compromises. Highly recommend, enjoy!

$100 for cardboard that you have to glue together. Then when you are finally ready to play the game, you find out how much better your life would be if you were doing something that didn’t further stereotype you as an adult virgin. The game, and all of its overpriced organizing accessories, is simply not worth it. Just use ziplock bags, play the game once, realize it’s never worth dragging out again, then watch your money sit on a shelf. This entire Gloomhaven appeal must only be for people that have nothing sexy in their lives whatsoever.

I am getting a copy of Gloomhaven from backing the Frosthaven campaign. They were pushing the licensed organizer, but I saw some issues with it, one being it was on back order. Someone suggested I check out this one, and I am glad I did! Since I don’t have the game yet, I built a few items a day over a few weeks, and now it is complete, and ready for the the game to arrive in a week or two. Thank you for another great organizer!

Material and instructions are spot on. Finger jointing makes assembly easy to achieve nice square containers. All cards fit easily even with sleeves except for the monster stat cards & card board sleeves; those are a touch tight even with no sleeves BUT they do fit all of them (core + expansion). Only complaint is that the character sheets don’t fit in the tuck box. Recommendations for future: 1/16th inch thick dividers so you don’t have to search through a stack of monster action cards (short term, I just used plastic dividers per eight sleeved action cards), reorg layout to allow traps, effect tokens, damage indicators into one or two minimal boxes to better support routine game play. Bottom line is I replaced my broken token organizer with this one and couldn’t be happier about it!!

I watched probably every video comparing and reviewing inserts for Gloomhaven. I finally decided that this is the one for me. The shipping was lightning fast, the assembly took about 4 hours, and everything fit exactly as advertised. I ended up getting a legal accordion folder with 30 slots for all the map pieces. Im very impressed with this insert and can suggest it to everyone I know with confidence. 100% satisfied.

I’m very happy with the quality of the product and it makes me want to invest in more systems such as these. Ultimately it was an enjoyable assembly experience with few hiccups or annoyances; none which would merit a star-reduction. Everything dry-fit nicely and I did 100% of the pieces like that prior to applying any wood-glue.
One drawback for me is that the system cannot accommodate the base character-envelops and model boxes. I personally would have liked to preserve the original packaging ( and have mine just off to the side on a shelf until we unlock them ) within the character boxes. With the Tray-extension the notion of staying 100% within the original box is not needed. I’d like to see those trays changed in such a way to integrate them. This issue is the closest things to drop it a star down but not quite enough.
Additionally there isn’t storage explicitly for other bookkeeping items/unlockables; the Town Logbook and Player/Party sheets specifically. I’ve just got them in a small baggie that goes within the top tray add-on.
*** This is a great product. these are my feedback items for minor improvements. Do not let it detract you from purchasing it as I think its the best product I’ve seen yet. 11/10 would purchase again. I’ve passed on the Forsthaven Broken Token add-on in favor of waiting for Go7Gaming to release theirs .***
Improvements for the team:
– Some sections could use better ‘one direction’ design of the teeth to ease/ensure correct assembly.
– Possibly a small “i” in discrete joints to indicate “inside/inward” facing which would assign with correct assembly.
– Instructions which explicitly account for each assembly plate; no need for assumptions here.
– ( even as an extra product-upcharge ) A character symbol engraved on the top wall of the character box.
– two trays don’t have lids. This really isn’t a big deal has stacking and the element tracker pin everything in place nicely with the top-tray add-on. without it, i’d be much more concerned about piece movement. I’d recommend enclosing these at the cost of extra height. even if, by shape-design, a stacking layer ‘locks in’ like the other lids.

Placed an order for this and paid extra to upgrade shipping. Go7 promptly shipped out my purchase the next day but there’s been no updates from the shipping provider. I realize that this is more of a failure on the shipping provider for losing the package but the one star is on Go7Gaming for not responding to my message to ask for help even though I used their messaging system and for not providing a number to contact their customer service so I can reach out for a resolution.
Go7 is fortunate that their products are highly rated because I will be attempting another purchase for the same item… this time through Amazon where I can get better customer service if something goes wrong.

I have built about (5) Go7 inserts now and they all are great! Easy to follow instructions, sturdy material and great organization for the game. I like that the Gloomhaven insert has individual boxes for each character. As others have done, I cut out the symbols of the characters and glued them to the side of the character box. If the character symbol could be etched on the sides for future versions (or for Frosthaven?), that would be great! If not, there is a simple solution. Sleeved cards fit with no problems (I use SleeveKings). With all the wood material, the box is solid and a little heavy, but Gloomhaven is already a heavy box so that is no concern for me. Recommended buy!

The final product, once assembled, is fantastic. Getting to that point took about 6 hours of glue-up, not for the faint of heart. I had to use a rubber mallet for quite a few pieces and, once, I had to pry it back apart and re-glue since I had put one piece the wrong way round. A few pieces had difficulty coming out of their laser cut partitions, but overall everything had a clean cut.
The lids fit very tight. I had to sand them down to loosen them up a bit. Except the standee lid, which doesn’t seem to want to stay on.
The biggest troubles I had were (1) only one page of instructions specified the sheet numbers, which made it difficult to identify all of the pieces; and (2) the instructions did not provide any guidance to what pieces go where in the boxes and only minimal guidance on how to shove it all into the box. Since I have not played through all of my Gloomhaven campaigns, I don’t know the name for every monster yet! As a result, I had to look up a guide to everythings names — which oddly doesn’t match every name burnt onto the boxes as there are several slight variations. Finally, one piece from forgotten circles – the whirlpool like pieces – don’t seem to have any place to be placed within the kit.

The Gloomhaven insert is wonderful, but when you guys do your Frosthaven organizer, please be sure to add the character icons where they are visible like in this photo. It makes a world of difference!! I bought heat transfer stickers to do my own on Gloomhaven.

I received the packet after 2 months waiting (UPS delay). Currently half-way in completing the assembly, spent 15-20 hours of gluing, figuring things together. I was already aware of the fact that the project will take a while so that was ok. Some bits of are scattered on 2 pre-cut boards so some time is required to figure out which is which.
I found two things a bit irritating.
1) Some cuts are a tad inaccurate. Dry applying a piece in the respective cuts made it tilt a bit (wasn’t fitted at 90 degrees). That accumulated in the specific block and at the end, properly fitting the final pieces required force (one piece broke in the process).
2) The boxes that hold the tiles / doors / minions were hard to assemble. Specifically, fitting the pieces with the names on it required some force to place it on top of the vertical dividers. For me it was impossible to completely fit correctly, maybe the cuts were also wrong, maybe the glue started drying out in the process. Eventually I had to break one of the 30cm long tiles in order to fit it in place somewhat successfully.

Great organizer. so far very happy with it. It was very fun for me to build, as it gave me an excuse to bust out my modeling tools from architecture school. This thing is super sturdy, and commensurately heavy! It works really well for setup and tear down. Everything fits in the box really nicely and there’s enough extra space that it isn’t a pain to get things in and out. There was clearly a lot of care taken to ensure everything lays flat and flush.
A few minor things kept me from giving it 5 stars (these are all admittedly nitpicky!). The instructions have a few things that could be more clear, particularly numbering the sheets used on every page. This stops after the first few and results in having to compare the sheets to the images, rather than just looking for the correct number. A few of the lids are maybe a bit too precise, with too many elements needing to line up just right. This makes them tough to get on/off, though I expect this will become less of an issue with use. I also wish the character trays used the same style of lid as the other elements, rather than toothing in so much. It’s just an odd choice to change the design of the elements like that, and again relies on a much more precise build (and cut for that matter). I also wish they’d thought through orientation a bit more for some of the pieces so the burning could be kept to the inside of the elements as much as possible; the bottom of the sheets typically has more scorching on it than the top, and sometimes there’s no choice but to have the worse looking face on the outside of the box. I sleeve with sleevkings and I wish the small card tray was just a tiny bit wider as there’s just barely enough space to get them into the rows. They do fit without bending the cards though. It’s just a little finicky when getting the cards into the tray, especially when you’re trying to put larger stacks away. Lastly, I wish they’d scored the sides of character trays, so you could organize them and tell what is what without having to pull them out to check the symbol.
Again, these are all very minor critiques and don’t significantly impact the function of the organizer (in fact most have no real impact at all, just minor design items). I highly recommend this organizer, and will definitely be getting whatever they develop for Frosthaven at the very least.

This is my second review of the same product, my first one isn’t displayed here for some reason.
Currently at 50% in completing the project having put approximately 20 hours into it. That said, taking my time building it and I have never worked on a similar product before (or on wood for that matter).
Two things I found a bit troublesome.
1) In a few boxes when dry-applying, the pieces were titled a little bit and wouldn’t fall on a 90 degree angle. This escalated the problem of fitting correctly the later pieces of the box (especially on those large miniature/token boxes).
2) For the boulder box, fitting correctly the labeled pieces required force as it wouldn’t go all the way on top of the B and L tiles (see picture). Eventually I had to break the end of it and glue it separately in order to somewhat successfully fitting it.
PS : The customs fee for deliveries outside US may be quite significant. For me, it was 64 euros (Greece).

This is hands-down the best purchase I could have made to make sure Gloomhaven hits my table as often as possible. I love how easily it fits in the box, and the Character boxes are amazing!! I’m a compulsive sleever, so I am thrilled that this insert easily fits sleeved cards.
I put the character logos on the sides of my boxes to make it easier to tell which is which without removing them. For the eventual Frosthaven insert, this is the only thing I would recommend to improve on this already excellent product!

Great product, definitely takes longer than advertised to build if you use glue and follow the directions (it took me around 6 hours). Only issue is with the fit of the character boxes, some are a bit loose on the lid so I have to use plastibands to hold them on, this is really an issue caused by sleeving the cards.
