I consider Caverna as Agricola’s spiritual successor. Caverna ships with all the chrome you could wish for in a game. Every piece of wood is delivered in the form of a veggie or animal meeple. Nice thick cardboard boards abound. Beautiful color tokens… and so many tiles that Mahjongg seems simple by comparison. It’s an amazing game that provides the same engine-building mechanic as Agricola, without the incredible pressure to feed, feed, feed your family. If ever there was a game that demanded an insert, Caverna is that game. Our goal with this insert was to significantly shorten setup and breakdown time and provide removable trays for use during play.

This insert is designed to store the boards and manuals on top of the insert.
The removable token trays are designed to store tokens spread out for fast identification and use.
Our Caverna insert is designed for sleeved and unsleeved cards.
Product Notes
- This insert kit provides one (1) card storage area, with room for the scorepad below the cards.
- Rulebooks and larger cardboard boards are stored on top of the insert.
- This insert kit provides five removable resource trays for use during play.
- Two (2) tile storage lanes are provided in the lower insert. This insert is designed to stay in the box.
- Twelve (12) small and six (6) large wood dividers are provided with this kit.
- Each set of player pieces has dedicated storage.
- This insert is lovingly crafted with laser power using a 3mm HDF wood product and is natural colored. HDF does not contain a wood grain as it is a constructed wood product.
- Allows sleeved or unsleeved cards.
- Insert assembly requires some wood glue and about 40 minutes of assembly time. I recommend Sobo Craft glue or another comparable quick setting, tacky glue.

Does this Caverna insert include fitting in the Forgotten Folk expansion?
I bought the Caverna insert kit. Upon opening the package, I found the boards to be nicely and securely packed into the box. I proceeded to punch out all of the pieces from their respective boards, and found myself a bit overwhelmed (there’s a lot of pieces!). I then dry-fitted everything and admired how well things fit together. It took me a while to start the gluing process because I’m a perfectionist and wanted to be very methodical as to minimize any mistakes I would make (my crafting experience is on the low end, and I surrendered to the fact that I wasn’t going to do a perfect job). After all was said and done, I was quite pleased with how the components were housed in the trays. One thing I would like to note is to be very wary of the amount of glue that collects in the edges/corners. These trays were designed with very tight spaces; and if a glob of glue dries in these tight spaces, things aren’t going to fit right. Luckily, my sloppy glue job didn’t affect things too much.
I recommend getting this insert kit. It will make the game experience much more streamlined, and it looks pretty too.

Just apply a little glue and you have yourself a nice fitting, sturdy insert. Now that all of the game components are ready to go, we can play caverna at the drop of a hat. Would buy again!

A must have for this component laden game! Get rid of all those horrible baggies! Setup and clean up time is reduced significantly. You can also store the game on end, a mandatory requirement for me.

Just love this insert. Was easy to build and fit all the pieces perfectly. Also this insert will fit for “sleeved” cards. Not sure why that’s not mentioned in the description but I used the Fantasy Flight sleeves and it fits persecution under the coin tray with the scoring pad. Amazing insert. Highlight recommend.
